How about the “Nice Girls Don’t” series by Molly Harper? I think the first one is “Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs” they’ve got a little romance  in them but also a lot of humor, of the sarcastic variety. I also like the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R Ward, now that one is very mature, the first few books are really in the paranormal romance genre, but as the series develops it moved in an Urban Fantasy direction that I’m really enjoying.
